Community Discussion: Addressing Implicit Bias in Law Enforcement (2)

February 20, 2020 @ 5:30 pm - 9:30 pm

RSVP required: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/fair-impartial-policing-a-community-discussion-and-training-session-tickets-91233669361

The City of Cincinnati is hosting community discussions on Fair and Impartial Policing (FIP), a training curriculum currently being implemented within the Cincinnati Police Department in response to Ordinance 15-2019 requiring all city employees to undergo implicit bias training.  Facilitated by a FIP national instructor, this session is designed to provide community members the opportunity to:

  • Learn about the modern science of bias and prejudice, including implicit bias.
  • Discuss how bias can manifest in law enforcement professionals and community members.
  • Be informed about what the Cincinnati Police Department is doing to promote fair and impartial policing.

While race bias is usually the key issue in communities, this training is also relevant to other bias concerns (e.g., LGBTQ, youths, people with mental illness, individuals experiencing homelessness).
