OFFICERS

PRESIDENT
Jake Williams – Mt. Washington

Jake is an Associate Partner and Industrial Division Manager at ATA Beilharz Architects. He has been with the firm since 1998. With specialties that include Building Code interpretation, existing building assessment, construction document coordination, and consultant management, Jake is also one of three LEED accredited professionals on staff. He has been involved with and served on various professional and community organizations, including as President, Board of Directors, for the Cincinnati Warehouse Education Research Council (2013-2015), and as a member of NAIOP. Jake was President of the Mt Washington Community Council 2009-2013 and Vice President 2007-2009. While a member of the Mt Washington Community Council he was the Chair for the Plan Steering Committee at the City of Cincinnati for the Mt Washington Comprehensive Plan. Jake has been a member of the Board of Trustees since 2011, first serving as Secretary, and currently the President of the Board since 2016.

VICE PRESIDENT
Melissa Wegman – East Price Hill

Melissa is the President/co-founder of East Price Hill Alliance of Businesses and past vice president and Board member of EPHIA. She currently serves on the Board of Trustees for Price Hill Will, CNBDU and the Community Land Cooperative of Cincinnati located in the West End and a member of the Queensgate Business Alliance and Western Economic Council. Melissa serves on the Hamilton County Community Development Advisory Committee and as an advisor to the BLOC Incline Incubator and to the Cincinnati Neighborhood Games. Melissa’s community engagement stretches over a 25-year span with a focus in her community, as well as her involvement as a member of the Price Hill Alliance of Businesses (PHAB) that includes business networking with companies in all three Price Hills. She was co-chair of the Economic Development & Business Districts Team for the Price Hill Plan and a spokesperson in getting it passed and approved by City Council. Melissa has extensive experience and knowledge of the NBDSF monies and NBDIP Grant process.  Professionally, Melissa is Vice President of Wegman Company, her family’s business that started in East Price Hill.  

TREASURER
Emily N. Mitchell – Madisonville 

Emily Mitchell is an Audit Manager from Locey, Cecil & Associates, a small accounting firm that does audit and tax work for HUD housing projects, LIHTC housing projects, and small nonprofits. She has Bachelor’s Degrees in Accountancy and Finance from Wright State University and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). Her experience includes a variety of businesses and industries including work with the Model Group, Episcopal Retirement Services, Working In Neighborhoods, and Madisonville Community Urban Redevelopment Corporation. Emily volunteers regularly at her church and to further the work of her clients. She is the mother of two boys and her interests include reading, traveling, and sports.

SECRETARY
Samantha Conover – East Price Hill

Sam is the Community Engagement Coordinator at Price Hill Will, where she creates engagement strategies to interact and work with Price Hill residents and organizations. She is the Founder of Renaissance Covington’s 2015/16 Curb’d program; which created immersive public experiences in the area of a parking space. Prior to her work with Renaissance Covington, Sam was a Gallery Resident at People’s Liberty where she focused on engaging community through space. She is a graduate of the distinguished interior design program from the University of Cincinnati’s School of Design, Architecture, Art and Planning. She is a member of the DAAP Alumni Board and of her local community council. Sam is a passionate community advocate and showcases that passion through community development, experiential design, and creative placemaking.

 

TRUSTEES

Joshua Swain – Kennedy Heights

Josh is a past-president of the Kennedy Heights Community Council and current member. He has served on the Invest in Neighborhood board for the past six years. Josh is a Qualified Bike Patroller for the City of Cincinnati and is a former member of Citizens on Patrol. He was a Personnel Specialist for the United States Army which included transporting military personnel to various locations. He has been retired for thirty one years from the United States Postal Service. Josh has been a Professional Tailor since he was seventeen years old and enjoys working on new projects.

Dan Bennie- Oakley

Dan is a partner of Barron Peck Bennie & Schlemmer Co., LPA. He has extensive experience in the representation of real estate developers and entrepreneurs, builders, condominium and community associations, financial institutions and investors in real estate. Dan advises entrepreneurial clients on a wide variety of legal matters that frequently arise with business owners, investors, and their families. Dan is the vice president of Central Land Title Agency, a fully owned subsidiary of Barron Peck Bennie & Schlemmer Co., LPA. Dan is a member of the Ohio State Bar Association, Cincinnati Bar Association, and the Oakley Community Council where he is on the Board of Trustees and current chairman of the Long Range Planning Committee. Dan is current member and former president of the Parish Council at St. Mary’s Church in Hyde Park. He is the Past National President of alumni association and Sigma Sigma society at the University of Cincinnati. Dan is an alumni and former chairperson of “X-Travaganza” at St. Xavier High School.

Elese Daniel

Elese is currently the Education and Outreach Manager for Red Bike.  Formerly she worked as the Community Liaison for Neighborhoods Committee Chair and Vice Mayor David Mann.  Elese knows her way around the city, and the City, better than anyone else, passionately devoting her time and energy to improving neighborhoods and Cincinnati’s collective of communities.  Among her many volunteer efforts, she has volunteered for Wordplay Cincy – an innovative program that empowers Cincinnati youth and was their Writer-in-Residence for 2016/2017, and is currently chair of the Transportation work group for the Green Cincinnati Plan.  Elese has served on the Neighborhood Summit Planning Committee for 4 years, connecting the event to the community through unique interactions such as short order poetry with Chase Public.

 

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Elizabeth Bartley

Elizabeth is a returned Cincinnatian, currently residing in Walnut Hills.  She served on the IIN Board of Trustees for 5 years as Ass’t Secretary and Treasurer, and has been Chair of the Neighborhood Summit since 2015.  Elizabeth represents IIN on the Equity Coalition Core Team for All-in-Cincinnati.  Prior to her current position, Elizabeth worked for WestCURC, first as a consultant, then as Executive Director, implementing the vision for the revitalization of the Westwood Historic Business District. In addition to her professional work, she has over two decades of teaching and research, most recently focusing on the dynamics of the urban environment and arts/culture led regional development.  Outside of Cincinnati, Elizabeth puts her energy into World Heritage as a member of the World Heritage Ohio Steering Committee for the Hopewell Ceremonial Earthworks Nomination and Chair of the Regional Development sub-committee, as well as serving on various scientific committees for ICOMOS.
